PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil & Gas Company Limited (KPOGCL) has signed a Petroleum Concession Agreement (PCA) with the Government of Pakistan for the Prospective Miran Petroleum Block, located in North Waziristan and Kurram Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, KPOGCL’s Chief Executive Officer, Nasir Khan, hailed the agreement as a significant milestone in KPOGCL’s strategic expansion efforts, reaffirming the company’s commitment to enhancing Pakistan’s energy landscape. He expressed gratitude to the Federal and Provincial Governments, especially the Chief Minister of KP, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary of Energy & Power, and the Board of Directors of KPOGCL for their unwavering support throughout the execution process.
Khan highlighted that the recent oil and gas discoveries by OGDCL and MPCL in adjacent blocks have increased the prominence of the Miran Block. The Board of Directors and Management of KPOGCL are enthusiastic about collaborating with local administration, communities, and other stakeholders to ensure sustainable exploration and production activities in the Merged Districts, adhering to standard industry practices.
The CEO emphasized that exploration and production activities in the Miran Block will generate significant employment opportunities and contribute to the socio-economic development of the concerned districts under the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
